What does it mean to experience a connection?

When we find our calling in life, that connection can feel like a great discovery, as our talents or skills click into place, providing direction and inspiration.

When we connect with a like-minded community, it creates a warm environment of safety, support and goodwill.

And when we connect with a person, we feel a sense of belonging, of kinship. Sometimes, we fall in love, and it grounds us, like coming home.

Making an earthing connection is no different. When we practice grounding and align with the Earth’s energy, that same, silent bond is established. It’s calming, yet invigorating, because our bodies long to re-harmonize with the natural world.

We can trust our bond with the Earth; it’s a relationship that gives back. We can feel it in the forest among the trees, hear it in the waves that lap along the shore. It's in the sand between our toes at the beach, or in the fresh green grass underfoot. It is tactile, textural. We relax into it, because our energy is replenishing itself at the source.

It sounds almost mystical, but it’s similar to the way people “just know” what they were born to do with their lives, or when they know they’ve met “the One”.

Modern living and our growing dependence on technology increasingly separate us from nature, and keep us indoors. Even the shoes we wear, with their synthetic soles, create separation, preventing us from feeling the ground beneath our feet.

Are we losing our ability to connect?

Laurentian Chief’s Limited Edition His & Hers Earthing Moccasins are the first step in making sure that doesn’t happen.

Earthing, or grounding, is often achieved with bare feet, or when our body comes in direct contact with the Earth’s surface: on grass, sand, rock, or in water. Research has shown that the Earth’s natural magnetic field stabilizes the nervous system, reduces inflammation, promotes healing, and stimulates healthy cellular activity.

But grounding can also be practiced with footwear that is made from organic materials. Laurentian Chief’s Earthing Moccasins are traditional in style and crafted entirely with rich, maple-toned elk’s hide. The soft leather outsole and suede interior allow for conductivity between you and the Earth, without having to go barefoot.
Genuine leather moccasins are perfect for earthing when they only have a thin layer of leather on the soles and that is the only thing seperating you from the ground beneath you.
