Summer is for soccer: a field of cool, green grass, a pair of cleats, and just the right ball.
Because it’s both universal and accessible, it’s the biggest sport in the world. Almost as soon as kids can walk, they want to run and kick a ball, and it’s the same in every country — everyone loves soccer.
With the World Cup capturing global attention in 2026, fütball fever is having its moment. Whether on the pitch or in your own backyard, what better time to get in the game with a specialty soccer ball of your own?
The Indigenous Art Soccer Ball comes in two colours and styles, both designed by Indigenous Canadian artists in the tradition of formline elements and shapes. Each ball comes inflated to an official Size 5 and packaged in a specialty display box.
Red Ball
The red soccer ball features the artwork of Ojibway artist Jeffrey “Red” George, and is detailed with images of caribou, buffalo, and other wildlife. Accented with vivid colours and red maple leaves, its vibrance and energy truly capture the spirit of the game!
Blue Ball
The blue soccer ball is designed by Nisg̱ a’a/Métis artist Chantelle Trainor-Matties. Her signature killer whale motif in cool shades of ultramarine defines the essence and flow of teamwork that is so essential in sport.
Each Indigenous Art Soccer Ball bears the artist’s signature, marking its authenticity and respect to the artist. Let the striking designs inspire you to get into the game, or put them on display — they’re yours to kick or collect!

About the Artists
Jeffrey “Red” George (Ma-Mi-No-ga-boo) is an Ojibway artist who hails from an artistic family, from the Kettle and Stoney Point First Nation on the shores of Lake Huron. He discovered a talent for drawing as a teen and grew to develop into a gifted, internationally renowned painter. In his own words: “My work reflects my culture and its blessings... I am honoured to share my heart and soul through my artistic gifts.” Ma-Mi-No-ga-boo: He who stands with the light of the Creator.
Chantelle Trainor-Matties is an Indigenous painter, illustrator, and graphic designer from Abbotsford, BC. She is a Nisg̱a'a citizen with Métis ancestry whose creative style combines contemporary themes with ancestral influences. Her work is inspired by the bright colours of pop and digital art as well as the fluid lines of the natural world. She says, “My artwork is literally my entire life story... I’m able to use one passion, art, to share all my other passions [and] combine everything I love.”
Note: Indigenous Art Soccer Balls are distributed in partnership with Trickster Company, an Indigenous-owned business in Alaska specializing in Northwest Coast formline artwork. Trickster represents authentic Indigenous art and gift items non-Native people can appreciate and enjoy without cultural appropriation.
