Reading. Old movie watching. Woolgathering.
In the fall, this tendency becomes even more frequent and powerful, influenced by cooling temperatures and autumn leaves and pumpkins in a pile on the front porch. My house sits on the edge of a forest and the view from every window is a blaze of red maple and golden oak. The colour orange becomes a whole mood. All I want to do is practice staying home for the winter with my slippers on and drink from a selection of teas.
And the coziest slippers by far are Laurentian Chief’s fur-trimmed moccasins.

- Write an October poem
- Watch Practical Magic (again)
- Make (and eat) chocolate chip cookies
- Burn my new Apple Honey Butter scented candle
- Perfect a homemade cup of London Fog with Earl Grey tea and steamed milk
- Sit on the porch with a blanket while sipping the above perfected London Fog
- Nap
It’s an ambitious but satisfying list.
