Red Light Therapy LED Eye Mask

Red Light Therapy (RLT) works by exposing the skin to low levels of red and near-infrared light for a set period. Unlike other forms of light therapy, red light operates at low wavelengths, penetrating the skin by 1 to 2 millimetres without generating heat. This exposure triggers a biochemical response in the cells, strengthening the mitochondria—the cell's powerhouse—where energy production occurs.

Research suggests that RLT may enhance mitochondrial function by increasing electron transport, oxygen consumption, and ATP (adenosine triphosphate) levels, resulting in more efficient cellular performance, regeneration, and repair. LEDs have become the preferred RLT light source over lasers due to their nonablative and nonthermal properties. Studies indicate that RLT may offer several benefits for skin health and anti-aging by boosting collagen production, a protein essential for youthful, firm skin. It has also been known to reduce inflammation and promote the healing of acne and acne scars. RLT can enhance overall skin clarity, reducing redness and improving skin texture.
